How it works

Three steps, all on your Mac

Your course stays on your computer. Nothing to upload, nothing to host.

Step 1

Start a course

Begin with a blank course, or open one you already have.

Step 2

Build it block by block

Add text, pictures, interactions and questions from the block library. Type straight onto the page.

Step 3

Export the package

Choose SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004, then upload the zip to your LMS.

What learners get

A player that reads well on any screen

Every package carries our player. It draws your course at desktop, tablet and phone widths, tracks progress, and reports the score and the completion to the LMS.

  • Learners resume where they stopped.
  • The outline, the buttons and the labels are yours to rename, in any language.
  • It makes no outside requests when a learner opens it.
The exported course in the player on a desktop screen: the course outline in a sidebar, the lesson header and the first blocks.
The same course on a phone: the cover with the logo, title, description and a Begin button.
Features

What the editor does

The blocks you expect

Text, images, video, accordions, tabs, flashcards, processes, timelines, scenarios and more. The library shows each one in your course's own style.

Preview on every screen

See the course on desktop, tablet and phone, in a window that updates as you edit.

Quizzes on the page

Type questions and answers where learners will see them. Set attempts, the pass mark and feedback in one panel.

Course settings with a live preview

Theme, cover, navigation, completion and labels in one window, with the course redrawn beside the controls as you change them.

Fonts that travel with the course

Pick a Google font and its files ship inside the package, so the course looks the same on every LMS without a request to Google.

Exports that tell you what they skip

If a block cannot go into the package, export tells you how many it leaves out before you upload.

Nothing extra in the zip

The package holds our player, your course and your files. Nothing else.

A proper Mac app

Native menus and toolbar. Each course is a document you save, find and back up like any other file.

Moving from Rise 360

Already have courses in Rise?

Open the zip you exported from Rise 360 and keep editing it here. You do not need a Rise subscription to open it.

  • Lessons, blocks, quizzes and media come across as editable blocks.
  • Custom blocks are rebuilt where we recognise them, with the original kept so you can compare.
  • Anything it cannot rebuild, such as embedded Storyline, is marked in the editor and left out of your export.
The course page in the editor: cover, author, title, a settings strip, and the sections with their lessons.
Inside the package

A package you can open and read

An imsmanifest.xml, the schema files, and one small player that reports progress, score and where the learner stopped.

Questions

Before you download

Which LMSs does it work with?

Any LMS that accepts SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004 4th edition. The package follows the standard to the letter and carries the schema files, so a strict LMS validates it too.

Can I bring in courses from Rise 360?

Yes. Open the zip you exported from Rise. Most blocks come across ready to edit; the editor marks any it cannot rebuild.

Is there a Windows or web version?

No. SCORM Builder is a Mac app.

App Store or direct?

The app is the same. Buy directly if you want the 7-day trial first or your company needs a VAT invoice. A plan bought in one version does not carry over to the other.

Where does my course live?

On your Mac, as a document you save where you like. SCORM Builder has no accounts and no cloud: the only thing that leaves your computer is the package you upload to your LMS.

Build your next course on your Mac.
